Happy Spring Project

For Winter Abel and I made a bunch of snowflakes out of coffee filters. So, for Spring we made flowers out of coffee filters.
Here is the wreath we made using coffee filters and plastic eggs.

These are my favorite ones, yellow and pink.

Here is where I found the idea for making this type of flower.
Abel really enjoyed spraying the coffee filters! We just used markers (we didn't have washable and they worked, but washable will probably work better).

We also tried to make a butterfly from this website, but I need to find pipe cleaners.

It is a fun, inexpensive way (we don't drink coffee, but have a LOT of coffee filters...) to decorate the house for spring!

Grandma's Visit!

My Mom came to visit us recently. She was able to spend 10 days with us! It was great having her visit (we don't get to many way out here!). We spent a lot of time visiting, shopping :), and sewing.
Abel, of course, was spoiled by Grandma. This first picture is in front of Schatt's bakery. Grandma actually put a quarter in the machine (I only ever let him sit in it!...but that's what Grandma's are for.)
She also spoiled us. She cooked dinner for us a couple times (yum!!) and even babysat so Samuel and I could go out on a date (our first date since we moved here!).

Abel and Grandma had a lot of time to snuggle. They also read a lot of books and played together. This gave me some nice time to get some of my own things done and some alone time:).
Front

This is one of the projects that my Mom helped me make. It is a car seat canopy or cover. I got the idea from this website: http://www.make-it-do.com/tag/car-seat-canopy-pattern/.
We ended up doing a crazy quilt pattern because I had a bunch of different fabric pieces. I found out after we were done that this was my Mom's first crazy quilt too! She seemed very confident of what we were doing...I never suspected! :)
Back

And this is Abel "working". He brought this out after nap time one day and was working away!
Mom is going to come back down here after the baby is born. She may even be bringing my brother (who I haven't seen in about 4 years...he's never even met Abel!). It was good to have a "practice run" of her here...now she knows where everything is kept in the kitchen:).

We had another Dr. appt today. Everything seems to be going well with baby. Only 5 weeks left! It seems like such a long time, and yet will be here before I know it. I am trying to get things ready for the baby and at the same time enjoy the time I have with Abel. Things are going to change a lot for both of us (and of course Samuel too...). Abel is really excited about the baby and I think he is going to be a great helper!
