Introducing.....

....Elisha Reese!!

Elisha was born on April 26th at 4:11 am. He weighed in at 10.2lbs (!!) and was 21 1/2 inches long.

I won't go into all the details (if you really want to know I will tell you:), but the labor and delivery went really well. I was able to do it on my own (with a LOT of support from my dear husband and a lot of prayers) without any medication (this was my first unmedicated birth). The whole thing lasted about 5 1/2 hours. This was the fastest of all my labors as well.

We are adjusting well to life with a newborn. We are so very, very thankful that God preserved Elisha and me through the pregnancy, labor, and delivery.

You could tell right away that he was a big boy! And, he wasn't all that happy about being taken away from Mommy. :)

Abel is a great big brother. He got to the hospital at about 8:30am and stayed with us until 2ish when Dad took him home. He is very excited that Elisha is a boy, but asked a couple times where his sister was :). He LOVES holding him. Each time at the hospital when I asked who wanted to hold Elisha, Abel would jump at the chance.
A very happy big brother. He loves his "little guy".

Proud Dad. I am so thankful for such a wonderful, supportive husband and he is one great Dad!

Going home!
Elisha is a great sleeper and eater. I have been getting about 2 1/2 to 3 hours between feedings. The morning after we brought him home I was nursing Elisha in the bedroom and Samuel was still in bed. We heard Abel's door open and then heard him call, "Baby. Baby where are you?" He then went around the house looking for Elisha. :)
This was taken Day 2...he looks just like Abel! (Although Abel didn't have  those chubby cheeks until about week 2!!)

Grandma Beda is here now. Abel is enjoying the extra attention and Grandma is enjoying baby snuggles:).

Easter

Happy Easter! I thought I would share some pictures of our Easter in Bishop.

This is Abel with one of his eggs that he dyed. We were invited to dye eggs with some of our neighbors. We had a great time. We were able to do it outside. Abel was done after 6 eggs. He couldn't wait to eat them this year.

This is after church on Easter. We are so thankful we all made it through Lent. Samuel said I am now allowed to have the baby anytime...

Abel with the cross that he and Dad made for the church. He is excited about something!

The egg hunt!! Dad hid a bunch of eggs.

Found another one!!

Mom doing some egg hunting of her own...not nearly as much fun when the eggs aren't full of candy :)

Abel with his "loot". I bought him a package of fruit snacks (he loves these, but they are a rare treat). He loves his "candy".
Later that day we were invited to some members house and had a great time. We took a walk (to a cemetery, very appropriate place on Easter), watched some Winnie the Pooh, shot bow and arrow (I tried this time, it was fun. I didn't lose any arrows and even hit the target a few times...it is a whole different ball game when you have a nice round tummy in the way:).
We hope you all had a very blessed Easter as well!

38 Weeks...

Today marks week 38 of this pregnancy. We went to the doctor today and everything looks good right now. Right now we are just hoping to make it past Easter and then hopefully baby will come quickly!
Here is a picture (by demand...:).

Here are some other pictures of things that we have been doing lately...

Abel likes to use Owen as a pillow. :) Here they are lounging in front of the warm fire (Owen's favorite spot!).

Samuel made a new cross for the church for Good Friday. Abel was a great helper. This is made out of wood from the parsonage fence...it is definitely an "Old Rugged Cross" :)
Samuel and Abel have been digging for worms too. Samuel has 2 worm beds, they take care of all the food scarps that the chickens can't/won't eat. This is the biggest worm they have found so far!

Samuel was recently very sick with a virus (not sure where/how he got it). So, he is still recovering from that and is quite tired. Hopefully he will get to rest a little bit after Easter and regain some strength.

A Blessed Good Friday to you all and a very Happy Easter!
